dc.description.abstractGrowing evidence of tight linkages between climate changes and increasing disaster risks presents fundamental challenges to sustainable development and poverty reduction in South Asia. Under the circumstances, it is extremely important to understand the vulnerability of poor households, the majority of whom are farmers, under climate change and their capability in adapting their farming practices to changing climate scenarios for sustained livelihood and development. Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) attempts to harmonize various aspects of sustainable development (economic, social and environmental) through discussion of the question of both climate challenges and food security jointly. The approach of CSA is meant to recognize as also make viable and operationalize agricultural development that is sustainable in nature within the defined framework of climate change. In this paper we try to understand the possibilities of CSA adoption and practices in poor countries of South Asia that would be influenced most from change in climateen_US
